CoGe is a semi-modular VJ application for Mac OS X®, designed for real-time media mixing and compositing, built over the most powerful graphics technologies like Quartz Composer, OpenGL, Syphon and Core Image.

Is there a manual available?

Yes, check out the CoGe Wiki, its the growing source of everything-you-have-to-know about CoGe. It also contains links for (video) tutorials.

What, CoGe is not free and open-source anymore?

No, it isn't. I started the implementation of a new concept on October, 2010 and found this project needs more time then I have for free. So, my choice was going to commercial instead of canceling the project. This also means CoGe will be updated more frequently and going to be better and better over the time.

Is there a demo version available?

Yes, and please try CoGe out before you buy, because I cannot guarantee refunds! You can download a demo from the DOWNLOAD menu. The demo is fully functional except project and preset save/load features. There is no time limit or a pesky logo on the Main Output.

What's the system requirement of CoGe?

You need a Mac computer with 10.6.7/10.7 or later with a dual-core CPU and at least 1 GB of Ram.

I've purchased CoGe, are updates will be free?

Yes, till version 2.0 updates will be free.

I lost my license, what should I do?

Drop me a line about that using the CONTACT form.

Why I can't load a project file created with the old, open-source version?

Just because the new, commercial CoGe is a very new application, and handles things differently - just think about the extended modularity.

How can I record my set?

On the software side, the totally awesome and free Syphon Recorder is your best option. Since CoGe has a native Syphon server on each layer and on the Master Mixer, you can record the Main Output or just a single layer. On the hardware site, there are a lots of option, you can use a desktop DVD recorder or capture cards, google on it!

What's the best movie codec for using in CoGe?

Photo-Jpeg or Motion-Jpeg at 75-85% quality are the best options.

Any other tips for the best performance?

Sure! Select your 2nd displays resolution to match CoGe's rendering resolution and the apps can do less work on image resizing. Also set your rendering resolution to your media files resolution, and CoGe can save rendering time by skipping image resizing.

CoGe just crashed, what should I do?

That is bad. Anyway, next time you will launch CoGe, the app will show the built-in crash reporter, please fill the fields and send the crash report to me. Please always set your e-mail address on the form as well, and we can get in touch. If you missed the crash report sending for some reason, you can still able to send the information for me from CoGe by choosing Report Bug from Help menu.
